Lisa McKenzie, one of the youth, was baptized by Chris Price on March 30, 2008.
Lisa shares how her beliefs changed from the following: “I thought religions were created by people who wanted to believe in something so badly, that they convinced themselves and others it was true.” — to this: “Now I know there’s no way I could possibly live without Jesus in my life and I want everyone to know that I am living my life for Him.”
We hope that her testimony will encourage you and lift you up.
Daryl Busby shared a message about Easter “One Week Late” in which he talked about Thomas, the disciples locked in the upper room, and Jesus’ post-resurrection visits. He centered the message around the acronymn FUD: Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. The main text was John 20:19-31, but he referenced a few other passages in John: John 11:16 and John 14:5.
Richard Ang will be sharing the 7th lesson on the series of the gospel of Mark. This lesson is entitled: “Judgment and Love” and will look primarily at Mark 12:1-22 and Mark 12:28-34.
Overview:
This parable is a logical follow up from the events of the temple and the curse of the fig tree (Mark 11); links up with the parable of the soils and complements the motif of the vine and branches (John 15:6). It also reflects the language of Isa 5:1-7. The leaders do not know it but Jesus’ arrival marks the fullness of time as judgment comes with the most momentous event in history.
The discussion time was led by John Richardson.
NOTE: We are very sorry, but due to a technical blunder the audio didn’t get recorded. :( …The mic got plugged into the headphone outlet!! PS. I will triple check the connections next time.

Chris Price shared a message this Easter Sunday titled “The Road to Emmaus.” His message centered around the scriptures in 1 Cor 15:3-9 and Luke 24:13-35.
Chris starts by telling us the bad news — we will all die; death is our enemy (not just physical death, but also our spiritual separation from our creator God). In such a way, the resurrection is central to the hope we have in Christ, and underpins the core of the gospel message. Chris comments: “The sting of death is removed because it doesn’t result in alienation from God, but instead ushers us into His presence and the fulfillment of our heart’s deepest longings and desires. Jesus purchased that through His death and His resurrection, and through faith we are united with Him and share in that victory.”

Dave Barker shared a message on the triumphal entry of Christ starting at Luke 19:28-44 and the familiar and all-important events the proceeded it in Luke 22-24. The outline of the message was summarized as follows:
Richard Ang shared the 6th lesson on the series of the gospel of Mark at 9:15 AM downstairs. This lesson is entitled: “Discipleship: Journey, Faith and Cross” and will look primarily at Mark 8. Following the lesson, John Richardson led the class in a session of Lectio Divina using Mark 8:22-26.
Richard Ang shared his thoughts on Luke 14:25-35, a rather difficult text to grapple with, but one that is foundational to the gospel message.
Prior to Richard’s presentation, Beth Dol shared a very moving testimony of her near death experience during the delivery of her youngest, Robert (now 6 months), and how God carried her through it and is being glorified in her weakness. It is an inspiration that despite the great physical trials she experienced, she was able to sing again and was able to return home to care for her children. Please pray for her that she would make a full recovery, particularly for her feet and her kidneys. You can see a video of her testimony here:
Richard Ang shared his thoughts this Sunday for the fifth lesson of the series on the Gospel of Mark. In this lesson, we looked primarily at how the Scribes and Pharisees - people who have the word of God but who fail to comprehend it - prevent faith from coming upon themselves. Richard touched on passages in both Mark 6 and 7.
Following the lesson, Richard dashed off to preach upstairs as the rest of us went through discussion and questions led by John Richardson.
