Phil and Kathy Johnson share their testimony and some of their thoughts. Then Dave Barker shares a moving message on James 5 speaking about looking forward to the future redemption of our bodies, accepting God’s sovereign plan and giving ourselves wholly over to Him.
Here is Lynsey Williamson’s June newsletter. In it she shares a story of a lady who she prayed with to repent and trust Christ and meet Him. She also shares about her personal growth from her recent trip to Japan.
Tim Bartel shared a message based on Eph 5:21-6:4 titled “Family God’s Way” on June 15, 2008. In a very balanced way, Tim showed us God’s plan for the family is not one of hierarchical authority, imposing our wills upon one-another, but rather on serving one another out of love for Christ and others (just as we love and care for our own well-being), and allowing ourselves to be convinced by each other (mutual submission).
I came across the very inspiring testimony of Nick Vujicic, a 23-year old man who was born with no arms and no legs… and passionately loves Jesus Christ! I hope you are inspired by the message in the following video to put your trust in Christ no matter what you are going through — for if He hasn’t healed you yet, He has a purpose yet to fulfill in you through your “disability”.
Brian “Head” Welch, the former lead guitarist and a founding member of a heavy metal band called “Korn” which began in 1993, left the fame, money and success of Korn…and the nightmare of his drug addiction by the grace of God in 2005. He recently wrote a book (released in 2008) titled “Save Me from Myself: How I Found God, Quit Korn, Kicked Drugs, and Lived to Tell My Story“. I was moved by his testimony and thought that sharing it here would be a venue to bring others that you might know of who are struggling through the darkness of drug and other addictions and are wondering if it is possible for God to free them.
I also found the following personal message from Brian encouraging people to trust God with their lives:
Chris Price presented the second message in the series on James from James 2:14-26 which he titled “Faith and Works.” Michelle Felice shared concerning the SoulFood ministry starting at about the 20 minute mark in the audio.
