Denominational Affiliation

We are also part of a group of churches known as the

British Columbia Baptist Conference (B.C.B.C.).

These churches belongs to a larger body known as the

Baptist General Conference of Canada (B.G.C.C.).

This denomination was formed originally by Baptists who moved to North America from Sweden. They formed Swedish-speaking churches, and multiplied across the U.S. and Canada.

Within these voluntary affiliations, each church remains independent and self-governing (what has been called autonomous).

Each congregation …

• calls its own pastor(s)
• determines its own budget
• buys and owns its own property, buildings and assets
• determines its own programs
• writes its own by-laws (including its statement of faith)
